Afaik the deal between Mozilla/Firefox and Alphabet/Google is that Mozilla receives funding for setting Google as the default search engine. When the user decides to change that after install it has no influence on that contract.
My guess is that the deal is based on Firefox' market share, so as long as the fork identifies as Firefox by user agent, this shouldn't influence it at all.
There can be only estimations, either based on market share analysis or build-in telemetry.

Abgesehen vom militärischen Eskalationspotenzial ist es auch moralisch schwierig. Die Wagner-Söldner sind für ihre besondere Brutalität bekannt und verüb(t)en vermutlich überdurchschnittlich viele Kriegsverbrechen in der Ukraine. Mit so jemanden auf "Der Feind meines Feindes ist mein Freund"-Art zu paktieren, ist wohl weder von der Kiyver Führung gewünscht, noch an irgendwen vermittelbar.
Das Schlimmste ist ja, Reddit ist profitabel, es ist nur nicht "börsentauglich" profitabel und das ist das Einzige, was Huffmann interessiert.
Er hat sogar Aaron Swartz (unbedingt suchen, wer ihn nicht kennt) als Mitbegründer von Reddit streichen lassen, weil ihm die Verbindung zu ihm wohl geschäftsschädigend schien.
