This doesn't change the policy and the benefits it will bring in the long run.

It's crap for the delivery drivers though. But longer term isn't forever and at somepoint that wage increase will directly benefit them as well.

Pemdas isn't as arbitrary as people in this thread think it is.

I love maths, and I'm going to butcher any attempt to explain why pemdas isnt totally random. But you can look it up if you wanna know more I guess

Besides no one ever uses that notation - by the time you learn about quadratics, you leave multiplication symbols out of the equation entirely and much of the notation changes shape, with division exclusively being expressed as negative powers or fractions.

At that point you aren't going to make mistakes, since each hyperlevel uses a different style of notation. Pemdas is used to teach 4 year olds, and it's fucking dumb. What happens with a log, or sine function. Don't even get me started on integrals and derivatives.

Pemdas is shit, but not because it's abirtary. In fact it's shit because it's a shithole acyromn

How to get a successful IPO

  1. Piss off userbase
  2. Tell everyone you aren't profitable
  3. ???
  4. Profit

That's the point of monopoly, You start off with the same assets as everyone else, and though no fault of your own you slowly lose it as one person takes advantage of the opportunities that you didn't get, like landing on the best properties etc. Eventually the point of monopoly is that 5 of says 6 players end up going round the board, never quite dying, but never being able to progress, at all. That loops is whole point of the game. The hopelessness.

Now irl you don't start of equal. You actually start of even more disadvantaged then your opponent, so monopoly as a game makes an even more damaging point, that even in optimal conditions, capitialism is stupid.

The ancient memes are great though. Like be honest, you laughed at the stupid 2001 meme

The Lemmy DM is imo actually quite important. If I want to get in touch with someone about a post, nothing more. It is an easy option, and serves a purpose. It isn't imo meant to be used for anything else.

We have hit the critical mass; and that is a cause for celebration. A month ago when I joined, I thought that people would come, post a bit. See the limited content and leave. And I will admit it was painful to use Lemmy back then since a solid 90 percent of posts where about the site or were rips from Reddit. Fingers crossed for the future of Lemmy

Because of this comment, Im going to comment on every post I see, hopefully I start some conversations... That always entertained me with Reddit reading 2 people talking about some small pointless thing

drafting posts (sh.itjust.works)

Now I never liked drafts being saved on Reddit, it always felt a little pointless and was annoying. I want to know if other people prefer the lack of drafts or not?

I think that there will be people who remain on Lemmy permanently. This group will remain small, and insignificant. But hopefully there will be enough people to prop the instances up with content. At which point Lemmy will begin to grow slowly; this slow growth imo is the most important. But yeah alot of people will go back to Reddit and forget all about Lemmy. And that's ok.

mindustry? (sh.itjust.works)

Since the community is about factory games etc I thought I'd ask if anyone else had played mindustry?

20
electronic fans? (sh.itjust.works)

Was curious because I saw this community gaining traction on my all page.

Do remember that the OP is on beehaw.org which is NOT run by genocide denying tankies. It just runs their software and the tankies don't have any control over that code its explained well in the docs.
