It's a myth that has been used by antisemites, culminating in use in the Nazi regime to Other the Jews (including an art exhibit and propaganda film). There have been plenty of calls from the Jewish community to get rid of the name.

The code is open sourced at https://github.com/frnsys/half_earth. The documentation implies that it should be easy to generate plots, not to mention that the engine is right there.
Try Nimbu Pani! It's an Indian drink that hits the tart and slightly savory points. May be annoying to get black salt though.
