Bottles is a sandboxed environment for Wine an let's you tweak the wine configuration per application. It's also very user friendly, not intended for power users.
Great summary, I have used Intel most of my life but my current new project will have an AMD CPU. Intel feels out of touch BUT... I'm glad they are jumping to GPUs, although late it's nice to have more competition.
I have a Flydigi gamepad and I can use a virtual machine with tiny11 to change the configuration. The connection isn't super stable but for the few times I have to do it, it works.
