Deepfake pornography is super goony but if I had to look for a silver lining, at least nobody had to undergo the actual physical degradation of making porn. It’s still gross in its own way, but it’s a different kind of gross that seems worse in some ways but better in others.

Blu makes some decent phones for pretty cheap. I used the Bold N1 for quite a while. I believe the Bold N2 is out now but I've admittedly moved onto a Pixel since I've had the budget for it.
Those Broadcom wireless cards gave me PTSD. The only way I got one of them working was compiling the raw firmware blobs into my kernel on a Gentoo stage 3 install... I shutter imagining administering that system as my daily driver. It was a good learning experience but I'm not cut out for that level of effort just to surf the web, open some documents, and play DOOM.
It's easy to fall into communities like these because the advice they offer seems plausible on it's face. At least you can acknowledge that it's not working out for you so that you can move on.
We've all had to learn some lessons the hard way in life. Don't let the sunken cost fallacy deceive you into dragging things out further. Cut your losses and run.

Personally, I'd like to see a new series of Ghost in the Shell or Bubblegum Crisis, perhaps a prequel set close to present day. Grappling with serious adult themes about transhumanism would be interesting, especially as we inch closer to that prospect. Explore the event horizon of AI becoming sentient, going rogue, stuff like what goes down in the finale of MGS2.
