it's nice you all found well balanced queer people to befriend but keep in mind we also may not be as mentally put together as you perceive. i say this as a gay dude with lots of issues.

lemmy trends very anti-reddit and in general is very strict about the kinds of views you are allowed to have here. the idea of wanting to go back to reddit is a very big no-no here.

i generally mesh well with about 80% of lemmy ideology but if I ever speak out about that 20% I tend to get downvoted to oblivion

Thanks!

What's the difference between a backdoor roth and mega backdoor roth? you're moving a 401k into a Roth?

my guess is my income in retirement will be less than my income now so I'm guessing my taxes will be lower?

thanks for the advice about finding an advisor!

I ain't a high roller like some of y'all. But I'm wondering about some questions like "should I (and could I) do a backdoor Roth" or a "Roth 401k" and was wondering if I should talk to a financial advisor. But I don't feel like I'm in the asset bracket for someone who has a "financial advisor" so I'm kind of scared to talk to one.

Did you guys have a financial person to talk to when you didn't have a ton of money? If not, approximately at what level of assets did you talk to a financial advisor?

maybe my standards are just lower now because I still see idiots cheering trump as he is literally killing them and stealing their money so long as they think he is "owning the libs"

at least she's realized and admits her mistake and changed her voting patterns. a huge portion will never have that self-awareness

Google Sheets. I don't do line item budgeting though. I create my overall plan in Sheets so I know what transfers to set up and that it doesn't exceed my income and I just look at Monarch Money to see how my spending is going. It's $100 a year and a pretty good app.
