Speaking of comics one can't find, I've actually been trying to find an old comic I saw a long time ago. I think it was about some kind of egg or potato guy wearing a navy hat going to the egg store to buy new eggs? He had just got to the egg store. Might you know anything about it?

Is that Santa or Jesus getting arrested? What did they do?

Do you put the ticket in that guy's mouth to validate?

I think what they're really asking is how can Jon Arbuckle understand Garfield's thoughts. Is one of them a telepath?

Where do you find such geopolitically-cognisant bugs?

I expected that you would tell me that I shouldn't expect anything to happen.

As restitution for the damages, I would like that a freshly-prepared full-english breakfast be served to me in bed.

I am filing a class action suit on behalf of over 206 individuals against the moderator of /c/modabuse @notwesker@lemmy.sdf.org for inconsistently enforcing rule 1 (no victim blaming).

EXHIBIT A: Moderator log showing instances where people received punishment for violating rule 1.

EXHIBIT B: In which @pieguy@lemmy.sdf.org quite explicitly violates rule 1 the first time.

EXHIBIT C: In which @notwesker@lemmy.sdf.org merely warns @pieguy@lemmy.sdf.org instead of applying a ban as done previously for far less explicit cases of a rule 1 violation.

EXHIBIT D: In which @pieguy@lemmy.sdf.org threatens to repeat the act of violating rule 1.

EXHIBIT E: In which @pieguy@lemmy.sdf.org explicitly violates rule 1 a SECOND time.

EXHIBIT F: In which @pieguy@lemmy.sdf.org explicitly violates rule 1 a THIRD time.

As restitution for the damages we are seeking:

If you would like to register as a claimant on this class action suit, please leave a subcomment here indicating such and what you request as your restitution.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 stick of butter, melted
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 2 whole eggs
  • A tablespoons of White wine vinegar
  • A splash of White vinegar
  • Smoked salmon
  • A tablespoon of Lemon juice (or to taste)
  • 2 English muffin slices
  • Water
  • Salt & pepper to taste

PREPARATION:

  1. Melt your butter
  2. In a pan, on the lowest heat setting your stove can handle (or do the fancy double-boiler thing, but I've had better results this way), place 2 egg yolks and your white wine vinegar. Whish together
  3. Slowly whisk-in the melted butter. The mixture should become thick and custardy
  4. Mix-in lemon juice, salt, and pepper to taste. Your Hollandaise sauce is now ready.
  5. Get a decently sized pot almost full of water and a splash of white vinegar. Heat to a simmer.
  6. Use a spoon or ladle to stir the water, forming a gentle whirlpool. Add your 2 whole eggs (out of the shell) and poach until the yolks are set.
  7. Toast your English muffin
  8. With the English muffin as a base, top with smoked salmon, poached egg, then finish with Hollandaise.
  9. Fall in to a food coma of ecstasy

I'm getting tired of the classics: Pepperoni, bell pepper, mushroom, onion, pineapple, etc. Everybody knows them, have them all the time, yawn.

I want to buy something original and unique to put on my pizza for dinner. Make me an offer!

It's Bean Day! (lemmy.sdf.org)
submitted 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) by pieguy to c/doodles_of_beans

That's right fellow bean enthusiasts, on this day of 2026-01-06 we celebrate World Bean Day: A day to appreciate the beans in our lives! This day also corresponds to the death anniversary of geneticist Gregor Mendel, who liked beans.

Much like last Bean Day, you are required to draw beans on Bean Day. This year, however, we will change things up a bit: The image attached to this post will act as a template on to which you will add your own bean celebrating Bean Day. Other bean enthusiasts can then use your image as a template for theirs and post it as a subcomment. Let's see how many different drawing-comment chains we can get!

HAPPY BEAN DAY!
