More taxpayer-funded McDonald's orders please.

People don't seem to be aware that there are estimates that there could be 1.2 BILLION climate refugees by 2050. And it's not like they all just decide to migrate in that year.

We think things look fascist now? If we do not stomp out fascism immediately, there's going to be mass genocide. If people stop being complacent right now, we could do so much better.

I don't have my hopes up though.

People were worse off during the Labor Movement.

It's unfortunate going to take more for us to get there, clearly. If that wasn't true we would be seeing mass protests.

The last time a protest accomplished anything was when people burned buildings and a police precinct to demand the arrest of George Floyd's murderer.

We are still too comfortable.

Struggling economically, which includes grocery prices, is absolutely what a lot of people voted for.

People are struggling with constantly increased cost of living here, and that is part of why ignorant moderate voters switched sides even though Trump is the worst answer.

No. It's going to push us right into fascism. This guy's a dipshit.

They would make more money by operating as normal. Collapsing the stock market is going to make it worse for them.

Nothing you said sounds like a conspiracy, unless folks are ignorant.

But you're right, the most effective protests create inconvenience to those in power. In the US, that his historically meant costing a lot of money at the minimum.

But yeah, these guys didn't cause any damage. They created a scene, sure, but all they did was try to raise awareness of a very real problem. And when you look at the response to this, which doesn't even do any harm, it makes it feel pretty obvious that the public is not ready for change and does not support it.

I can't believe all these people who still don't get it. We are so fucked. It's not even a joke at this point, we are completely fucked as far as curbing climate change.

These protestors didn't even cause any damage, they just made a slight convenience and now they're going to go to jail for up to 6 months.

Meanwhile, we continue to have record carbon emissions year after year. It's as if people using paper straws isn't enough or something...
