Been using it for over 6 months and I've found it's everything I personally needed. I'll be buying the lifetime plan next.
If you're asking about the encryption, they publish a whitepaper on their website with the details. I can't really comment on that since I'm no expert. But I did a quick online search back then and found good comments so decided to trust them.
Wait, so it's either targeted ads or pay? Damn... Silly me thinking if you don't pay you still could opt out of targeted ads.
But yeah, isn't this against GDPR?
Yeah, many things are getting replaced by apps and we're becoming more and more dependent... And you're right, tablet or netbook as companion can also work depending on your requirements.
And well, an F21/F22 is half price of the newest Jelly, and since I'm looking for a secondary phone I'm ok with the more basic specs. Also it has the real dumphone looks which is pretty cool. On the other hand, maybe I can get an older Jelly (or I also recently saw the Cubot J20), with that option I could use maps more easily (not sure how comfortable that is on the F21/F22) and that would allow me to carry less my main phone. I'm still on the fence.
I've done some experiments where I go out with a quite old Android phone with only Whatsapp and Spotify. I'm liking it so far. Since it's an old phone it's also quite small. The problem is it randomly reboots itself when I'm listening to music which is annoying. But, unfortunately I'm kind of dependent on various apps for various reasons (e.g. work) so I can't really get rid of my "main" Android phone... Sometimes I carry both, sometimes only one of them.
Now I've been considering if I should replace that old phone with something newer like a Jelly, or instead go for something like an F22. Feeling inclined for the latter.
I do use BitDefender. It's free and reputable (last time I checked)
I think this is a pretty good breakdown and worth a read. Some key takeaways are that with FLoC Google would be able to track visitors to your website even if you were not using Google Analytics, and that the mechanism is built-in the Chrome browser so entirely controlled by Google.
Here is a related article about Topics, the FLoC replacement.
Taringa, ah, those were the days!
Damn, is it really like that now? I created my accounts for IG, Google, Discord, years ago and without a number. I refuse to provide it when they ask now and never had an issue.
Can relate. With colleagues we have daydreamed about opening a bar, a bakery, a hostel on the beach, yet we're all still here, pressing buttons to make the lights on the screen change.
