League of extraordinary gentlemen. I think I liked it mostly for the art direction. I do wish this franchise will get rebooted as a series of streaming movies or something. The source material is fun.

SpoilerI think The Village would’ve worked out better if they had turned out to be time travelers.

You left out “Uyghur slave labor”.

Nah. A lot of people are stupid and selfish. You should look into the new evangelical mantra that “empathy is a sin”.

Were they done by “AI”?

The Leftovers. Tried twice.

To license Xbox hardware to third parties, and get you to sign up for Game Pass. Gonna milk what they own without investing further.

Skilled people in healthcare will just get jobs in other countries. There’s too much demand worldwide.

Should’ve pushed for ranked choice voting when they had the chance.

Wow. That actor looks so much better out of character! Beard is a thumbs up.

Cold water is easy to heat if you know how to make fire. Most early humans probably knew how to make fire. Hot water, however, is difficult to cool without refrigeration.

Spring and well water is often cool. I don’t know about the water that comes down from the mountains. Does it retain it’s coolness when the snow melts and runs down into the valley?

Dunno. I gave up halfway through the first season because it was so bad.

The fees on my water bill are already over $100 per month. Maybe if we weren’t paying to build multimillion dollar pylons for I-35’s non existent parkland (that we also can’t afford to build or maintain) we wouldn’t have to come up with more new fees.

I’ve got grubs in my vegetable garden. I looked into spraying nematodes to kill them, but I’m worried about it harming other bugs like butterflies, bees, and fireflies. Anyone have any experience with this? I don’t want to do more harm than good.

I know that some people eat celery with hummus. Or put pimento cheese or peanut butter on it. Are there any other foods that you think go well with celery? I’ve got some celery in my fridge that I’m trying to eat up.

Posting the boingboing link because the illustration is gold.

Apps like Bluesky allow you to create a list of block words for anything you don’t want to see. Is there already a feature request logged for this? I wouldn’t mind seeing a way to mass block the following:

  • word or phrase in title (like kardashian)
  • word in link source (like dailymail)
  • word in sublemmy (like meme)
  • word in tag (like #sports)

I dunno if it would significantly slow down app rendering of the feed, or if this kind of blocking would have to be a feature request for the server side instead.

Thanks for your time.

Just what we need. More consolidation. 🙄

😂

Just finished reading an article about how raw alfalfa sprouts easily spread e-coli, but the problem could be solved by irradiation. So why don’t we?

After all, the US is the land of GMO, pesticides, washed eggs, chlorinated chicken, and pasteurized dairy. How could irradiated produce be any worse?
