In a bid to tackle what President Emmanuel Macron described as "a senseless surge of violence," the French government will issue a decree "within 15 days" banning the sale of knives to minors.

Perhaps a combination of many factors. Anti-EV lobbying being one.

Transitioning from ICE to EV production will result in job redundancy in the manufacturing and assembly of engine, gearbox, exhaust, and other ICE-specific components. This could lead to mass layoffs, which would have severe political and economic implications .

Additionally there is a significant technological gap between legacy ICE manufacturers and EV manufactures to the point that legacy auto may never bridge the gap and will always be a step behind new EV manufacturers. Which may lead the whole industry and even the country to be hesitant to switch.

  • Mexico sold roughly five times as many EVs this year as last

  • Other areas of note are the United Kingdom, which saw a roughly 17 per cent increase year-to-date.

  • In Turkey, the EV market grew by almost 50 per cent year-to-date

Basically in countries with no legacy auto manufacturers, EV sales increase much more rapidly.

As far as can tell it only affects cars with Cariad software which seems to be used by VW group EVs.

Overall, we rate The Epoch Times Right Biased and Questionable based on the publication of pseudoscience and the promotion of propaganda and conspiracy theories, as well as numerous failed fact checks.

Subsidies or no subsidies the petrol Volkswagen Taos / Tharu XR cost around $11k in China [1] while 2.5x more in the US [2]

Tesla was once the most subsidised automaker in China [3]

The US is also trying to block Chinese battery companies from operating locally [4]

Also companies like BYD prices its cars multiple times what it sold for locally and are making a huge profit margin from cars sold overseas in Europe.[5]
