This is the most excited I’ve been for a game, literally ever
Never!
Why is that?
Making time for yourself gives you an opportunity to be better dad and partner. I understand feeling guilty, but be sure to remind yourself that. Give yourself room to decompress and take care of yourself - don’t put that mental weight on yourself because it makes things harder especially when you’re already doing a good thing for yourself and your family.
Make sure your partner gets that chance too (which you said they do) and you can be your best possible parenting team.
I’m somehow just learning about this game recently but I’m so hyped. It sounds pretty much perfect. I’m worried I may be overhyping it though so I’m trying to keep myself in check lol
What would a victory lap be in this context?
As crazy as it sounds… just stop folding stuff. Sort it by type and throw each type in a drawer. It takes less than 5 minutes usually and it takes all of the dread out for me
I can’t remember the name of the item, but the bag of beans can make for some proper insanity
I don’t have much to offer in the way of suggestions, but it is genuinely relieving to know I’m not the only one with this kind of issue.
On top of noise reducing earplugs, I’d also suggest that you try to figure out ways you can reset your stress/overwhelm levels. For me, that can be listening to music on headphones (a predictable noise, which helps settle me) or taking a shower. You can work with your partner (or family/friends/neighbors) to support you in avoiding situations that are triggering (preparing dinner, for me). You can have activities ready to entertain your child while you take care of yourself (maybe an audiobook on headphones for them, coloring pages, sensory play, etc).
The game is about managing things and identifying when you start to get overwhelmed. There’s no silver bullet, but lots of little steps can make a huge impact.
Literally a night and day difference in performance and stability! Thank you all for the hard work. To other users like me, consider reducing or replacing one of your lesser used subscriptions and directing that money to Lemmy. It’s much better served here if you ask me.
It does appear to just quote the same Reddit post and say that there’s nothing else to really go on so far.
Very minor, but it definitely does look better
