I suggest you check out Revolt instead. It's FOSS, self-hostable (AFAIK) and on par with Discord.
If FOSS is not a hard line for you, then Guilded is even better. While proprietary, it is free and vastly superior to Discord. Audio call bitrates are 256 Kb/s as opposed to Discord's 96 Kb/s for the free tier. 256 Kb/s on Discord requires at least 7 server boosts. Guilded also has some really cool organisational features, such as schedules, event calendars, todo lists and docs (all of these are added to a server like 'rooms'). Their privacy policy is also much more sane than Discords, and uBlock didn't block anything on their website, which is a big green flag for me.
