And yet there are no laws against expersonating.

Im not going to tell someone with a broken leg to charge a police line. Nor would i expect someone without legal status to stand in front of ICE.

If they do it should be their own choice, not because someone said it's the only way to show solidarity. Solidarity with who? Themselves? That's fucking nonsense.

You're bringing up ideas that are unrelated and out of context. Please reread the chain.

You're either missing the context of the thread or you replied to the wrong comment?

The police/bootlickers should be the only antagonist one has to deal with, not fellow protestors. If someone is in the group which the protest is there to protect then they should be encouraged to prioritize their survival.

They're often networked pretty well so check in with the bigger orgs, Food Not Bombs, or Mutual Aid Disaster Relief asking then to point you towards local orgs.

You may also be able to find an org by searching. "Mutual aid" + your nearest city, state, or alternative name for region (e.g. "twin cities").

Blue sky might be a good resource.

Telling people to exceed the bounds of their own threat model is exclusive as hell. When you tell others to put themselves at more risk than they're willing to take on you're pushing them away. You're giving them the impression they're not wanted because there "not dedicated enough". Don't do that.

What is this cacophonous radical ideology that makes the MLs give their sensible arguments? I MUST HAVE THIS POWER

You can search for local mutual aid groups. You won't have to be in crowds but you can still help with organizing, and making a difference on the ground. Logistics and administration are crazy helpful.

Volunteer in outreach orgs or at events that are related to your interests.

There are also mutual aid orgs. They are almost always accessibility aware. Maybe check in with MADR. They may be able to point to local groups if you're in the US.

There's also Food Not Bombs which is great!

I did see them around as a child millenial. Not totally uncommon in older and public buildings until early 2000's. The airblade dryers seemed to come in right as the last of these were phased out.

Grammar, sadly.

That's a fair point when these LLMs are restricted to areas where they function well. They have use cases that make sense when isolated from the ethics around training and compute. But the people who made them are applying them wildly outside these use cases.

These are pushed as a solution to every problem for the sake of profit with intentional ignorance of these issues. If a few errors impact someone it's just a casualty in the goal of making it profitable. That can't be disentwined from them unless you limit your argument to open source local compute.

I am building a new PC. I want to run Linux and windows on separate SATA 2.5/3.5 SSD hard drives. I need windows (Winn11 Pro) for work. Linux will run all personal computing needs.

I have a horrible history with dual booting Linux and windows (grub getting murdered).

I currently plan to shut down the PC, switch power to the drives, and start up on the other OS.

Can i use a switch which only toggles power to each drive while keeping data cables attached to accomplish this? Will this be possible with windows on one drive?

Is there a smarter solution?

Thanks!
