I think it's because they reached a point of American hatred (no judgement there) that they support form of resistance against the American world order, even if that resistance is in the form of dictatorships with horrible human rights records (they delude themselves to believe these countries are paradise however).

Thats why a lot of them still lick Russia's boot, despite being thoroughly capitalist and fascist. Any and all resistance against America.

The companies rooting for the destruction of net neutrality are far larger and numerous

I don't think it's that simple. Whether one likes it or not, the economy will always recover, particularly because crashes, like trump's, are engineered. Crashes kill all competition, deeply consolidating the market as only the biggest can survive (or recieve bailouts)

They say this whilst trying their best to make EVs the printers of the car industry. Update? The car stops and bricks itself for the duration of it. Want basic features? You have to pay a monthly subscription for the car you already payed for. Need it repaired? Have to bring it to a dealership with criminal prices because every part is serialized and they have you by the balls. Need a new battery after it kicks the bucket in 4-5 years? Expect to pay $10-20k for a new one. Oh and of course the center terminal/tablet is now crucial for the cars function, so anytime that malfunction it bricks itself again. Oh and it will always track and spy on you with GPS and onboard cameras and microphones.

Is it just me or I always see conservatives having "lucid" moments where they see how terrible, corrupt and violent the maga regime is, but a few hours later, once they get hooked on fox again, they become a diehard supporter again.

Same thing with the subreddit. You see EVERYONE concerned about something the GOP is doing, but they never mention it again or acknowledge it again. Lucid moments where all the commenters seemingly revolt against the Republican party that suddenly fades without any lasting impact.

Its the execution that determines if its appropriation, or appreciation. Appropriation of Japanese is something I'm closely familiar with because my interest in Japanese craftsmanship, knives and blacksmithing

If someone is using the culture to sell a mediocre, tangentially related product, disrespecting the original culture, is appropriation. If the product itself is executed faithfully, with dignity and respect to the culture it comes from, or is inspired from, then it's appreciation.

There are a lot of Japanese knife scams that poorly attempt to imitate somebody the features of Japanese knives, made out of junk steel, mass produced in China. These are appropriation.

There are some western blacksmiths who are genuinely as skilled as their Japanese counterparts, who make excellent Japanese style knives, faithfully recreating all of the details, features and quality as authentic examples. This is appreciation.

Can you blame workers for participating in a machine that provides for them?

Also just because an evil CEO was from the baby boomer generation, doesn't make them all collectively guilty

Is it so much generational neglect or "corporations hide their disastrous impact on the planet and society from the public for as long as they can, and after the effects become impossible to ignore they gaslight everyone blame the society as a whole to burdern them with their crimes" ?

Classic Streisand at play "DONT listen to this band cause they are SUPER evil and they are the DEVIL!!!!"

You'd think religious people would eventually learn the harder they try to repress exploration, the more they end up encouraging it. It's more fact than stereotype that the most sexually repressed and sheltered growing up end up becoming the freakiest and kinkiest.

Its attatched to the toilet paper dispenser. Ive literally looked at it multiple times a day for like 10 months and my brain never noticed

Anyone else feel like theyre one step from being blind? I always lose so much shit in plain site. Sometimes I leave a wallet on my desk, which I use daily, and I can't find it for days. I'll even MOVE IT and not realize its my wallet.

I see a lot of people blaming tiktok and "brain rot" content for the increasing ADHD diagnoses, but I think its a matter of better detection, similar to how OCD and autism diagnosis have increased too.

Also as someone with ADHD, it feels like shit that it could be "my fault" or that I have brainrot.

I wish I never told anyone I worked or studied tech. Especially older family and friends, because their requests for help are relentless.

A lot of friends are chill with it, and I don't mind doing a little bit of help, but sometimes people are who are OFFENDED when you don't want to help. In the same way a contractor friend won't remodel your home for free, I am not going to fix every single issue you have with your computer for free. I'm happy to give advice, but i'm not going to work for hours without pay to fix everything.

I've become the tech guy, and family are extremely entitled to my services. My mom especially. BTW I can't cut her out, because I still live with her and she EXPECTS me to fix anything computer related. She won't take no for an answer.

I've tried to keep track of her passwords with a password manager, I've spent literally 8 hours in a single day filling out captchas and replacing passwords, and I've spent even more time trying to teach my mom how to use the manager.

She CAN'T learn it, and always makes a new password, which she doesnt keep track of and expects me to fix it. What the hell do it do? She uses firefox, with auto refill on, but it doesn't autofill on her iphone.

Assuming the FDA and regulations don't exist. Also no normal food.

Trump has stated he will cut American aid to Ukraine, which makes a majority of total aid. Recently Zelensky stated that if Ukraine's only hope for sovereignty is its own nuclear arsenal, they will build it.

Utterly stupid little things, its money that is less useful in EVERY situation and expires! Even at the store where you can use it, what do you do with the money that's leftover but too little to spend? Especially at expensive places, you could very well end up with 10-20$ OF YOUR OWN MONEY, that you can't even use!

I was given a dunkin giftcard for volunteering at a repair cafe. First of all I'm on a diet but secondly I stuffed it in my wallet so quickly I completely forgot about it. The day I remember and go through the trouble of attending such a wretched establishment I was told it expired after I finished giving my order! After such bother to try to use this cursed thing I refuse to return fruitless from my endeavors so I paid with my own cash.

It is now, sulking into my hashbrowns and Boston cream do I realize I am now poorer, fatter and fucking miserable. FUCK gift cards.

I have many interests, if not too many. From cooking, woodwork and computers. Many of my friends are academically very successful but are frankly painfully boring and I sometimes feel isolated around them.

I like to cook when they hang at my house, I'll try to teach them how, some basic tips, etc. As soon as I glanced towards them again I realized they walked off.

This summarizes a lot of our interactions. As we get to a topic I understand and can speak passionately about, they sort of turn off. They talk to each other fine, but it's often internet drama, school drama or sports.

I'm not in college\classes and it seems almost impossible to meet others, especially others that are interesting and curious. I find myself bonding most to adults but it's isolating I can't find others my age.

Is there ever something that happened to a family member that you will ever know? Has anyone gone missing under mysterious circumstances? Is the place next to your great grandmother's friend's dad's house totally haunted?

I think that if an outright war is raging in the comments, let it run it's course. All parties are willing participants, free to disengage at any moment.

The exceptions should be when illegal content is being shared or illegal activity is occurring (CP, doxxing, etc).

It's always frustrating when a juicy argument gets locked because it's "unproductive". I was having a great time watching it unfold, both sides hurling both creative and uncreative insults, oblivious to how low they are sinking to. It's great!
