This would only be an interim solution. The attacker here sets up a fake github.com and collects credentials. So, VPN would be first trying to route over some internal hostname/IP address and probably just fail.

However, if everyone uses some VPN, the attacker can start imitating the VPN server. Or all the common ones. Redirect all traffic to a fake myvpnname.com/login with a message "you're using your device from a suspicious location, please confirm your credentials". You're on a plane, so you think this makes sense, punch in your password and it's gone!

No. For a destination where I am going this summer a train trip is 12h with a stopover and if I want a sleeper cabin, the whole trip is 300€. Plane takes 1.5h and costs 50€.

Also as I'm in the middle of one of those routes, if I were to return home by train, I'd need to get off at 3am.

Here's my solution: tax the living hell out of aviation please, use this money to subsidize trains. There will be more supply and more demand on the rails. We will suddenly have frequent and convenient connections. And we all will be co2-neutral.

It's a museum. It doesn't say "coal mining is a great technology of the future". It says "here's this thing of the past we used to do". Or do you also expect a paleontological museum to only employ dinosaurs?

It used to be that simple: r/plexshares, click any link, join the server, watch all you want.

Well, they really cracked down on that. Plex purged the servers en masse, my server switched to some obscure emby, r/plexshares is closed for good.

I'm in a need of a new server. Where do I even go? What platform is best to sail the seas now? Jellyfin?

P.S. my torrent days are over, thanks. I'm not interested in self-hosting anything either, again, thanks. 10$/month is a reasonable subscription fee for an all-you-can-eat streaming service

Reddit is like that ex the whole lemmy isn't over yet while loudly drunkenly screaming "I'm so over them!".

Advice: focus on yourself and your content.

Time to update the meme.

  1. windows: oh no, I was in a meeting!
  2. mac: oh no, I need a new mac for this to work!
  3. Linux: I'm afraid to install this, my graphics will probably break again!

Permanent Voltage Drop (sh.itjust.works)

I understand that the battery degrades over time.

However, without any apparent reason I found my scooter does not charge above 51.6V while a full charge used to be 55.9V. (I own a Zero 9).

It hasn't been used for two weeks before this happened, but I left it roughly half-charged, which should be ideal for a long-term idle time.

Any clues on what's going on?
