Waimea Bay is coming alive today with powerful early-season surf, and we’re bringing it to you live. A solid NNW swell has filled in overnight and is expected to peak through the morning, delivering classic North Shore energy. Conditions are shaping up beautifully with easterly winds adding a cleaner face to the sets compared to earlier in the week.

Waves are well overhead across the bay, with most breaks comfortably sitting in the double-overhead range — around 12-foot faces. The standout sets are expected to push up toward 15-foot faces, showcasing the raw power that makes Waimea legendary. As the day moves on, the swell will gradually ease slightly in the afternoon, but the morning hours will bring the best, most powerful surf of this event.

This swell originated from a strong North Pacific storm, sending long-period energy directly toward Oʻahu’s North Shore. Waimea’s unique underwater canyon focuses that energy, turning deep-water lines into massive, breaking walls that only the most experienced big-wave surfers dare to ride.

Whether you’re a surf fan, an ocean lover, or simply curious to witness nature’s power — this is the day to tune in.
