The two visits that Peter McFarlane made to the Museum of History and Local Lore in Brody are the most revealing of both what happened at that time and the current state of mind of many Ukrainians in that part of the country. McFarlane describes his arrival at the Brody Museum in 2022 as follows:

“The road to Brody was a memory lane for the SS Galizien. (…) there is a roadside chapel surrounded by five hundred white crosses that Ukrainian SS veterans had erected in 1994 as a memory to their comrades who had fallen in the battle of Brody. (…)”

On his first visit to the Brody Museum, McFarlane had immediately noticed that there was no mention of the Jews of Brody, who had founded the town and who, in the 1880s, made up 80 percent of the population. He reminded the museum director of this fact, who acknowledged that it was true. The author then asked why the Museum had no record of the presence of Jews. The director responded, “There were no more Jews after 1943, so they left our history,” waving his hand like a magician

weird story: Zionists upset that city says it will not prevent planned vigil, Mayor then says actually the organizing group does not exist, while a different Muslim group says zionists' attack on mayor distracts from genocide, which in turn offends zionists. Right wing NatPost tries to work some poppy scolding in there too for bonus points

Mississauga Mayor Carolyn Parrish drew ire from Jewish community leaders after she said Saturday that the city, located west of Toronto, would not try to stop the Nov. 26 vigil at Celebration Square in Mississauga. “The City will not interfere with a peaceful vigil, as long as all laws and City by-laws are adhered to,” she wrote at the time, adding that permits are not required for events that use public city property.

On Monday evening, following the backlash to her initial statement, Parrish said in an X post that she had concluded that the event is not real, however, the organizer of the event, Canadian Defenders 4 Human Rights (CD4HR), has maintained in social media posts that the vigil will continue as scheduled.

“Consulted a network of Muslim organizations, serious partners in many activities of our city,” Parrish wrote in a public statement. “I asked them to track down the anonymous notice for a vigil at City Hall. No organization exists. No vigil is planned.” She posted a letter from the Muslim Council of Peel, which said that the event “is not associated with any legitimate organization in Mississauga.”

The letter attached to Parrish’s statement from the Muslim Council of Peel, a local group, denounced “this attack on the mayor,” arguing it “serves only to distract from the genocide and humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where thousands of civilians, including women and children, have lost their lives.” The Centre for Israel and Jewish Affairs (CIJA) took issue with the mayor circulating a letter that calls Israel’s war on Hamas a “genocide.”

When asked in the comments if anyone had tried reaching out to the email on the flyer, Parrish’s X account responded, “Many did. No response.”

However, when National Post reached out via the email, CD4HR directed the Post to an X video posted Tuesday of a speech by the group’s leader Firas Al-Najim, which was filmed outside a Royal Canadian Legion branch in Mississauga. In the video, he is holding a printout of the flyer as he calls Sinwar a “great man” and defends the event. The X post names CD4HR as the organizer of the vigil for “the great hero” and “Axis of resistance martyrs that sacrificed their honourable lives to support the Palestinians & their struggle for liberation.”

On Tuesday, CD4HR posted what appeared to be an email from The Royal Canadian Legion that requested the removal of the phrase “Lest we forget” as it “is reserved for use regarding fallen Veterans/Remembrance Day and is an infringement upon the trademark held by The Royal Canadian Legion.” The email conceded that use of the poppy flower is okay.

The CH4HR X account then posted a new version of the poster with the text: “Sinwar is our Mandela.”

This post reminded me of this video I saw the other day (on account of it being Remembrance Day).

It seems that given that the Kkkanadian government is still refusing to give up the information of these fascist war criminals I can only conclude that nothing at all whatsoever has been done since this 60 Minutes video was made 27 years ago.

JNF loses court appeal

Canada’s most iconic Zionist charity has days to disband

The Jewish National Fund of Canada had its bid to overturn the Canada Revenue Agency’s revocation of its charitable status dismissed by the Federal Court of Canada. The decision bolsters the CRA’s authority to revoke other Israel focused charities violating Canada’s Income Tax Act.

In a 16-page decision released November 8 federal court judge Whyte Nowak rejected the JNF’s application for a judicial review and a request for an injunction to force the CRA to overturn its revocation of the JNF’s charitable status. After 57 years as a registered charity the CRA has given the JNF until November 13 to dispose of tens of millions in assets.

“The revocation and effective disbandment of the Jewish National Fund of Canada is a victory against an important arm of a racist colonial movement that’s stolen Palestinian land for over a century”, noted Karen Rodman of Just Peace Advocates.

Over 200 registered charities sent $362 million to Israel in 2022. Dozens of them assist the military, government agencies, racist organizations and illegal West Bank colonies in violation of CRA rules. Detailed complaints have been submitted to the CRA concerning more than a dozen of these organizations.

JNF Canada showed a net worth of $29.7 million in 2018, and $20.8 million in 2022. From 2018 to 2022, JNF Canada provided close to $2 million to the now revoked Ne’eman Foundation of Canada

“The Federal Court’s recent ruling reinforces the CRA’s authority to move against charities assisting an apartheid state committing genocide in Gaza”, concluded Rodman.

On November 5, 2024, Dimitri Lascaris and six other lawyers from across Canada filed an historic lawsuit against Canada's federal government.

On the following day, they held a press conference on Parliament Hill in Ottawa to announce the litigation and to explain its legal basis. This video includes their full press conference, as well as brief statements made by two of the lawyers after the press conference concluded.

The plaintiffs in the lawsuit are two Palestinian-Canadians, Hany El-Batnigi and Tamer Jarada. Their families have been devastated by Israel's war on Gaza. They allege that Justin Trudeau's government has violated its duty under Article 1 of the Genocide Convention to prevent genocide, and has violated their rights under the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms.

The six lawyers with whom Lascaris has launched this litigation are Professor Faisal Bhabha, Professor Emilio Dabed, Jouman El-Asmar, Yavar Hameed, Shane Martinez and Asaf Rashid.

The lawsuit is being funded by the Legal Centre for Palestine (LCP). You can support the lawsuit by donating to LCP here: https://www.lcpal.ca/support-our-case.

Archived link to the WaPo article mentioned.

The evidence isn’t public yet. But the actions Canada are taking are very serious. They’ve expelled Indian diplomats and are now accusing India’s Home Minister, the second-most powerful person in the country, to be behind the killings.

The WaPo article claims the Indian government used its diplomats to find information on people - who used Indians in Canada for this purpose, often by threatening to deny them needed immigration papers. Then, the diplomats would send this information back home.

There, the government worked with a criminal enterprise to organize killings on Canadian soil. This was all facilitated by India’s intelligence agency.

All of this information was apparently conveyed to India earlier this year, where a senior Indian official initially denied any knowledge and later admitted some information but denied others.

And apparently more will become public as the trial for the Nijjar killing begins soon.

That is, he overrode the ERRE and public consultations, and refused to let the issue go to a referendum, because he decided it was too risky to let Canadians choose our own electoral system. Trudeau’s comments reveal his view of the role of elected government: not to dutifully enact the decisions of the people, but to decide issues for Canadians. He acted based on his view of Canadians’ best interests, and will continue to do so, even if that means paternalistically overriding Canadians’ attempts to chart their own destiny.

Michael Coulthart, head of the PHAC’s Creutzfeldt–Jakob Disease Surveillance System, who was involved in the early days of the investigation has said he believes something real is going on that cannot be explained by the alleged bias or personal agenda of one neurologist. “My strongest hypothesis is that there is some environmental exposure – or perhaps a combination of exposures – that is triggering and/or accelerating a variety of neurodegenerative syndromes,” he wrote in an October, 2023, e-mail to another PHAC employee. He added that this complex scenario allowed politicians “to conclude nothing coherent is going on.”
