spoilerPollster Mark Penn, a longtime adviser to the Clintons, on Wednesday described Zohran Mamdani’s victory in the New York City Democratic mayoral primary as a “911 moment” for the party.

In an interview on Fox News’s “America’s Newsroom,” the chairman of The Harris Poll said those who don’t want to see Mamdani win in November should target him both for his refusal to condemn calls to “globalize the intifada” and for his far-left economic policies.

“Look, this is a 911 moment for the Democratic Party, in the sense that he’s an antisemitic socialist,” Penn said, when asked which angle would be more effective to use against him.

“I think you have to throw both of those things at him because he has really not disavowed the global intifada. He has not really disavowed his comments that we should seize the means of production,” Penn continued.

“He is perhaps the most extreme major candidate ever to win such a major office,” he added.

Comrade DeBlasio states that he would bravely act as a human shield to protect Chairman Mamdani from the fascistic forces that wish to crush our people’s revolution.

All jokes aside, pretty cool to see DeBlasio stepping up to support Zohran the way he has, even if it’s mostly due to the DeBlasio-Cuomo blood feud. Most based thing DeBlasio has done since supporting the Sandinistas

Voters in the largest city in America are choosing a Democratic nominee for mayor via ranked-choice voting. The crowded field is led by former governor Andrew Cuomo, who resigned from the state’s top office four years ago following sexual harassment allegations; state Assemblymember Zohran Mamdani, who snagged key endorsements from Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-New York); Comptroller Brad Lander, who made headlines when he was arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement at an immigration hearing last week; and City Council Speaker Adrienne Adams.

This is a ranked-choice primary – only first-choice votes will be tabulated on election night. Final vote calculations will be released July 1 and updated weekly until all ballots are counted. Republican Curtis Sliwa is uncontested in his primary.

In a context of the reactionary administration of Trump and the pardoning of Eric Adams, radicalized New Yorkers are searching for alternatives from the Republicans, Democrats and a government for the rich. This search gives the Zohran Mamdani mayoral campaign its political momentum.

He’s the first Muslim mayoral candidate, a first-generation immigrant with youthful fire, a Democratic Socialist who publicly condemned the border tsar Tom Homan and is presenting a progressive program that includes rent freezes. However, under the Democratic Party, he’s not presenting a program of class struggle and movement building. That, along with other limitations, is why I won’t vote for him. I believe instead, we must take steps to build a political alternative from the Democrats; a party for the working class and oppressed that fights for socialism.

There are attacks on labor with the firing of federal employees. Conjoined attacks on education and the Pro-Palestine movement. Attacks on free speech as we’re forced to witness a genocide. Trump is escalating the attacks of a repressive onslaught started by the Democrats.

It’s almost like traditional Labour voters: workers, the youth, the poor, the elderly aren’t exactly impressed with labours drive to make life in the uk worse for all the above sectors of society and see his spineless grovelling to Reform voters and transphobes for exactly what it is.

Love to see the Finns Party (nationalists) eat shit even in this minor election

”Of course this is a failure,” said [Finns] party leader Riikka Purra, who is also the Finance Minister. ”The numbers are terrible, and there's no explaining them away.”

Early votes are still incoming and may narrow this margin, but so far it's looking very good for Alex Brower, the DSA candidate for Milwaukee City Council

Elon Musk had an election lottery which payed people to vote for Brad Schimel. Brad Schimel lost to Susan Crawford.

Kind of going on an organization kick rn, and it’s actually pretty interesting on how back in the day, unions also served as community hubs similar to churches.

I want to go to a DSA meeting soon and see how I vibe, because as much as we may all lament the loss of community. I think it’s important for the left to learn how to build one, because the fascists most certainly have.

My Rep. is a total CHUD but I’m still going to write him. I’m not going to mention any ideology, but focus on the Mahmoud Khalil has not been accused of any actual crime, and the people who called for his detention (Shai Davidai etc.) are acting under the orders of a foreign power and are complete snowflakes.
