Inside Western media’s reporting on Gaza | The Listening Post
(Al Jazeera English, 2024-10-05)

Over the past year, for the Palestinians of Gaza, "[genocide] again" has become reality - mass casualties broadcast almost in real time by its victims.

This film is about an alternative version of that reality - the one told by major Western news organisations - and how it has provided cover for Israel's war on Gaza.

Based on interviews with more than a dozen insiders, it lifts the curtain on the inner workings of agenda-setting outlets like CNN, the BBC and The New York Times.

The lady, who has not been named, works in a school in Nazareth and posted a picture of herself dancing to a song called ‘Good Times‘ with the caption “On this day 7/10/23.”

In a post on X, Ben-Gvir wrote: “I forwarded the video to the team for dealing with incitement in the network I set up at the Israel Police, and she was immediately arrested at her home in Tamra. Zero tolerance for incitement and supporters of terrorism!”

However activists have been quick to point out that the video is in keeping with the lady’s social media presence and none of her captions or videos glorified the Palestinian resistance’s infiltration of Palestinian towns and villages on 7 October 2023.

“She was arrested, her eyes were covered like they do to terrorists, she was photographed humiliatingly and then her detention was extended,” Co-Director of the Jewish-Arab Movement for Peace, Equality & Social Justice in Israel, Alon-Lee Green, wrote on X.

“That son of a removed, Bibi Netanyahu, he’s a bad guy,” said Biden privately, according to Woodward. “He’s a bad fucking guy!”

Reads like a bloody Onion article.

I just saw this 2-minute #video that was posted on social media by someone in #JewishVoiceforPeace. Using a very original and powerful approach to present the #Gaza genocide, it could be shown to someone who is not doing anything about it. [FYI -There are no shocking close-up depictions of violence.]

Please take a look at it and comment if you wish.

Protest group Palestine Action has targeted 10 Allianz offices across the UK over the insurer’s alleged involvement with Israeli weapons firm Elbit Systems.

Offices in London, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and other cities have seen windows smashed, Palestinian flags hung and red paint sprayed across facades by the protestors.

In a statement, the group also added that it was occupying the insurer’s Guildford-based headquarters.

Palestine Action have said the insurer is a major financial backer of Israel’s arms and weapons industry and described Allianz as one of Elbit System’s “principle institutional shareholders”.

Elbit Systems manufactures over 85% of Israel’s drones, including quadcopters used by the country’s military to perform targeted military operations.

The poll, conducted by Israel's national broadcaster KAN News and the Kantar Institute, interviewed a sample of 653 Israelis.

Only 27 percent of Israelis think their government has defeated Hamas in its onslaught on the Gaza Strip that started a year ago, according to a new survey. The results show that 35 percent think Israel has lost the war against Hamas, while the rest are unsure.

Asked if they would be willing to move to one of the communities in southern Israel close to Gaza after the war ends, only 14 percent said they would consider living there, while 86 percent said they were unwilling. Former and current Israeli military officials have also said they are losing the war on Gaza and Hamas is winning.
