All right, fine -- then the objectively correct answer is Time Killers, because the only people who remember that game are shambling reanimated corpses that had to be brought back via Juche necromancy just for the Time Killers tournament.
...and now I'm sad that it never got a sequel or a next-gen makeover
It's not what you're looking for, but there's an old browser game that got rebooted into a Steam game called Super Fighters Deluxe that is pretty similar and I think it's still being updated.
