Discord now listen to all the conversation and then if there's a particular topic that's being discussed, the app will notify you about the topic that's discussing right now(or "highlight" of the conversation). I don't know if the "listening" part happened on server-side or client-side though.
Discord was always listening to all conversations, they’re just utilizing the data they’ve been collecting in a more obvious way now.
did you seriously think that they never had that data before introducing teh AI?
And it’s impossible for server owners to turn it off, even in “private” servers your conversations are constantly being fed into an AI.
The only server owners in Discord are Discord themselves. They just let you use them so they can monetize your data.
Most definitely server side.
