He basically dumped Jr and Eric and adopted Jared and rolled the dice with Barron.
Parasocially, it seems like Melania is keeping Barron as far from politics and his father's giant stink as she can. He was invited to be a delegate and she turned it down on his behalf. The best thing for him is to just never do what his two older half brothers are doing.
