And then every president afterward made it worse. And why wouldn't they? 99% of voters keep enthusiastically stamping their approval on it every two years.

Clinton almost completely paid off the debt. The first thing Bush Jr. did was send out tax relief checks because he was scared of having a surplus that people would want to spend. Bush Jr didn't raise taxes even when he had two wars going.

Don't blame 'every President' blame the GOP.

And then they clawed that money back on subsequent tax years. Like everything the Republicans do, it was a charade.

Clinton almost completely paid off the debt.

Yeah, but he did his part in contributing to the rise of fascism that has become inevitable in this country.

Don't Ask Don't Tell, NAFTA, Invented "Peacekeeping Actions" (So he wouldn't have to say he sent us to war.), The 94 Crime Bill, Welfare "Reform" (Meaning cuts, of course), Used the White House as a hotel in return for campaign funds, Took foreign campaign contributions from China

And he did all of these things when he wasn't fucking interns and taking trips on the Lolita Express with Jeffrey Epstein.

Like it or not, “ Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” was a big step forward, sort of like decriminalizing pot. Before that, the military was much less tolerant, so it was a big deal to basically ignore it unless there was an actual problem.

It’s easy to look back now and be critical of half measures, but it was very controversial at the time, and strongly opposed
