times really have changed a lot (for the better).
Yep, riding in my moms 76 Honda civic, my mom would tell me (and my sister) to shut up when complaining about the smoke. Also the lit embers that would enevitably fling back into the back seat still hold some early memories.
I saw a post recently along the lines of "in the 80 we only had 2 smells. Old cigarette and fresh cigarette." not wrong that :D
I think that is the reaction of someone who's parents did not smoke. Why would that not happen today?
I'm sure this happens today too, the difference is that the question "how is your relationship to her?" would have made no sense in 1980. Back then this was just normal and would not automatically lead to a bad relationship :)
