What does this mean for his presidential candidacy? Can he still run?
My understanding is yes, he can even run if convicted and in prison. https://prisoninsight.com/can-you-run-for-president-in-prison/
most famously this happened with Eugene Debs, yeah
Breaks my heart to hear him mentioned in the same context as trump.

Ah, America and its freedom...
Oddly enough, he can run. But as far as I know, he would be ineligible to vote.
