Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on Oct. 2 that exempts defendants from criminal liability if they join the Russian army, according to Russia's legal information portal.

I think this is conscription by another name. They are arrested on trumped up charges then before due process they are "encouraged" to go to the front.

Also you watch crime is going to explode in regions that are not Moscow and non white minorities but with very little in the way of victims of those crimes. Funny how the timing works out.

I think this is conscription by another name.

It's just formalizing an existing practice initially established by Wagner with the government's approval.
