Never understood men who keep their wallet or phone in a back pocket.

[-] techwithjake@lemm.ee 33 points 2 months ago

Wallet makes sense in the back pocket. It's been kind of the default for generations so much it's a comedic point in TV Shows and movies at times. They're generally malleable and an easy place to grab, for better or worse.

Phone on the other hand, I don't get either. They're rigid and can break quite easily if sat on. 🤷‍♂️

Wallet in back pocket = back pain. It’s pressing on your sciatica. Keep it in your front pocket, or get cargo pants.

..is this a humble brag about how heavy your wallet is from all your gold doubloons? 🤨

[-] noodlejetski@lemm.ee 14 points 2 months ago

*sciatic nerve. "sciatica" is the kind of pain caused by compression of the nerve.

[-] GBU_28@lemm.ee 5 points 2 months ago

Anecdotal. I keep a trim wallet and have never had back pain.

[-] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 1 points 2 months ago

I usually declutter my wallet after it hits the three pound level .... or the leather explodes.

[-] techwithjake@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

I agree. I was just stating "it makes sense". Small wallet for the front pocket. Can't always wear cargo lol

[-] fishbone@lemmy.dbzer0.com 3 points 2 months ago

Can't always wear cargo lol

Not with that attitude.

[-] techwithjake@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago

🤣 working towards that goal tho!

[-] Geometrinen_Gepardi@sopuli.xyz 22 points 2 months ago

I'd go crazy if I had to sit with a lump under one ass cheek.

[-] M137@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

First world problems. "My wallet is so thick that I call it a lump".

[-] Nelots@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

My empty wallet is still a lump.

? My "wealth" such as it is is 2 credit cards, a debit card, and an id. If you're carrying around every card you have, you have no plan. Figure out your spending to maximize credit card points. Why would I have my travel credit card with me in the grocery store? I'd have my everyday points card.

[-] raynethackery@lemmy.world 3 points 2 months ago

Don't you ever just get the urge to keep on driving and never go back?

[-] idiomaddict@lemmy.world 2 points 2 months ago

I love this comment

If don't have your travel credit card, you'll miss out on points while escaping.

[-] GBU_28@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago* (last edited 2 months ago)

When did I suggest I was escaping? I'm at the grocery store.

[-] raynethackery@lemmy.world 1 points 2 months ago

Did you get anything good at the grocery store?

[-] GBU_28@lemm.ee 1 points 2 months ago

Always. Cash back too

[-] techwithjake@lemm.ee 2 points 2 months ago

Don't disagree. Small wallet for front pocket is my go to. Just was saying "it makes sense".

[-] chiliedogg@lemmy.world 13 points 2 months ago

Wallet in the back pocket has cost me nearly 6-figures in medical bills for back pain over the years.

[-] Crazyslinkz@lemmy.world 7 points 2 months ago

I just take the phone out when I sit.

[-] techwithjake@lemm.ee 4 points 2 months ago

I'm crazy forgetful. I'd 100% break it in my back pocket lol
