Quinns Quest Reviews: Slugblaster
(www.youtube.com)
Tabletop Rpg posts, content, and recruitment posts.
Recruitment posts should contain what system is being played, CW for any adult/serious themes players need to be aware of and whether a game is beginner friendly.
An obvious reminder of no racism, sexism, ableism, homophobia and transphobia.
Emphasis on small independent rpgs like the ones in the TTRPGs for Trans Rights in Texas but not against dnd stuff.
i've only managed to play one game of it so far, but i really liked how it changed up the usual blades in the dark rolling system by removing the position/effect negotiation and making that entirely player-facing (players can choose to go desperate position for more style points, and spend limited metacurrency to add greater effect). resistance rolls are also completely removed, you instead mark a trouble track that affects your outcome dice pool near the end of the skate-heist, which has the possibility of adding negative points to your character's campaign-wide ending roll if you roll bad enough
the mechanical changes wouldn't fit the tone of base blades, but I'd love to see more forged in the dark games taking inspo from slugblaster in the same way brindlewood bay caused a mini pbta renaissance. it's a neat game even if "Rocket Power meets 80's/90's future dimension hopping" is a harder sell than the usual genres
