So, basically last year I used Turbotax. This year I am using my banks financial service for taxes. I am both not allowed to access last years transcript because I need a QR code to sign into my account because it uses a phone number I don't have anymore. OR the same thing applies with my banks financial service because they both use ID.ME.

Has anyone had this issue? Is there straight up a service I can use that bypasses asking for last years transcript? Only other option I have is a local tax-man parasite.

They're so fucking useless I hate them so fucking much. Whatever happened to URLs? No? How about a square that forces your phone to a link that has no way of being verified that can be posted anywhere? Great stuff.

qr codes are just urls but more forceful

you know those jesus piracy memes? those can even have a nasty virus and most ways of scanning qr codes will just go there no problem. foss software like "binary eye" and the grapheneos camera actually let you look at what it scanned before entering the browser or whatever
