Man... I wish fantasy games would just... not do spiders. For something that is a very common phobia, fantasy writers just LOVE putting it in their worlds don't they?

At least having an arachnophobia mode would be great. There are some games that have put that mode in. I just, ugh. Can't wait for the mod for Badlur's Gate 3 to be updated to work with the latest patch!

And jumpscares, especially in non horror games... And stories.

I hate watching movies in general for this very reason.

Yep jumpscares are the WORST! Was watching a tiktok that had it, almost threw my phone.

It’d also be great to not have flashing lights or fast repetitive jittery movements

That too! I don't have any epilepsy problems but it's still annoying. Most games have started to at least allow to turn off shakey cam.

agree, I think spiders is a lazy way writers get a fear response

[-] landsharkkidd@aussie.zone 1 points 1 year ago

Exactly. Like I understand that it's there because it's fantasy. But like... For the visual medium could we have a "no spiders" mode? In books it's not so bad... But I don't read a lot of high fantasy novels, and luckily my partner is great and doesn't put spiders in our dnd game.

I might have to grin and bare it to get the XP.

That's horrible! I love it. But also ouch that price.
