Is there a way to make scrolling less sensitive, there are times I try to scroll vertically and it stops because I am not scrolling in a perfect straight line. Or I am in the wrong axis and I am actually scrolling horizontally instead of vertically because I started a bit crooked, there is no leeway.

This is the only application I have encountered this issue. If I am a bit off I can't scroll. Is there an option I have missed?

So true. I love the app, but subtle lateral motion while scrolling through the comments kicks me back into the post listing very frequently. The app seems to react more sensitively to small, subtle lateral motion in a vertical scroll than it does to obvious, intentional lateral motion. For this reason, I'd prefer lateral swiping to be something that could be turned off. Using the back button works fine, no scroll left/right required

This is the #1 issue for me with this app

I just tested on my Pixel 6 and it only goes sideways if I swipe at more than 45°, which matches other apps and seems sensible to me.

This was one of the main reasons I moved to another app. When the horizontal scroll to go back change was introduced with no setting to disable it, I actually rolled my eyes.

I feel old, but I hate gestures. I always accidentally activate them. I just want buttons for everything.

Okay, I'm done being an old man that yells at cloud.

Jerboa is a native-android client for Lemmy, built using the native android framework, Jetpack Compose.

Warning: You can submit issues, but between Lemmy and lemmy-ui, I probably won't have too much time to work on them. Learn jetpack compose like I did if you want to help make this app better.
