How do you know the EEOC applies where she is?

I'd never heard of mandatory minimum parking until now. That sounds horrendous.

If you can make safe Rust segfault you're doing something wrong.

It also failed to install OneDrive. Perhaps because it's a bus.

Microsoft does too. Every time I log in to Azure (or Intune, or Defender, or Microsoft 365 or whatever they're all called these days) for work something has changed names. The documentation usually isn't updated to reflect the changes.

It's a very well known historical story though.

What makes you think there are Renaissance festivals in the UK?

[-] EinfachUnersetzlich@lemm.ee 68 points 8 months ago

Why do you even have an allocation of sick days? It's not really a concept anywhere I've worked (in the UK).

But they're not? They're advocating for children to not be forced to wear as much clothing, which isn't quite the same.

That sounds like the apps you use, my Pixel asks for authorisation for each app to access something the first time and that's it. Never been asked to translate anything or had tracking pop-ups except on websites.

Wait, people still use RAR?

lemm.ee is on the Estonian ccTLD because the person that runs it is in Estonia.

I've used Roundcube for years and finally got fed up with it breaking on every update because of the plugin system. Are there better options around?

Yes, this is a thing that can happen. When temperatures are high the air density means that planes need to achieve a higher speed to take off. Same for increased weight. Same for high altitude airports. Same when there's less headwind to take off into.

If enough of these factors are bad enough, you have to change what you can. Can't change the airport elevation or the weather, so that leaves you with the weight.

Watching the network tab of Chrome when I have a Lemmy instance open I can watch the websocket data coming in from the server. Even though I have "Subscribed" communities selected, the data stream seems to contain all post data (at first glance it looks like new posts and vote changes) from all communities federated to the instance.

It's manageable for the moment but if the network grows a lot, that could end up being a huge amount of data that's sent to users and probably not desirable if users are on slow metered connections. Is this by design?
