Basically the government has been taken over by the fascist military, foreign reserves are already non existent, Pakistan is one of those countries who asks the IMF for a loan every few years, inflation is rising and the bill for electricity is going through the roof cuz god knows how they calculate it. Not to mention, it also has a huuuuge load shedding issue which means it's not uncommon to lose electricity for 6-12 hours everyday and now Pakistan also has natural gas load shedding.
Soooooooooo, these solar systems pay back their investment much much earlier than other countries I think. Keep in mind that people already don't waste electricity or water or gas cuz of load shedding and high prices. So it's considerably cheaper to move houses to fully solar.
It's funny how much wastage is there in western countries, iirc the carbon footprint of the average person in a third world country is roughly 10 times lower than developed countries.
Western and third world are political categories. You probably mean high and low income countries. Btw also works well within countries.
Third world is absolutely going to jump ahead of the first world in a short period of time. It just makes so much sense for things that you say and the need to expand their grid to cope with increased demand.
Batteries are going to be the real game changer and its underway.
Plus all the third world countries have great solar and only really two first world countries have good solar. 1 has the highest levels of rooftop solar and are looking to expand batteries and the other has American exceptionalism so will always have excuses to not be able to do things other countries can with a worse hand.
