Rn I'm using Metro, app has a bit of bugs, music stops randomly even after setting battery optimization to unrestricted and hasn't been updated since April 2023. What do y'all suggest?

Do you need a simple player, or do you also need it to connect to a local network?

You should be able to find a ton of active, simple players.

But good luck if you need network support. I couldn't find any that worked well, featured caching, and were actively maintained. I bit the bullet and purchased Symfonium, and have been happy with that.

Man, now that I look, there really are very few that are still in active delopment.

Before Symfonium, I was using FX (also paid) for years, but hated how it didn't read and cache files from my NAS, so I'd have to use another app to keep my very large library synced with my phone.

I hope you find something that works for you. It's a shame that we don't have more options here. I wonder if it's because more people are moving to streaming platforms, and fewer of us use local/offline collections.
