Eh my takeaway from that is "don't obsess over it" and also the study is pretty old. There's newer, better sensors like blood oxygen and better algorithms. Not up to medical device standards but surely better than a 2019 study.
Actually though I mostly wear mine because my SO and I wake up at different times and the watch allows for a silent alarm
Apple had to disable blood oxygen monitoring as a feature (lawsuit, stolen tech IIRC)
It’s not disabled on T he old watches. Just any new one for the time being.
My watch is Samsung so not sure if that applies
that's a good idea, and also take it with a grain of salt - not the most accurate
