Welcome to femcel memes. A place where anybody can post memes that fit the vibe.

Warning: We have a tendency to post things that may at times come from a self-deprecating perspective or things that are funny coming from another queer person. This space will always be a safe place for transfems, non-binary people, people with a feminine gender expression (GNC or otherwise) or anybody else in the LGBT Community to come together and share about our experiences but we truly feel that laughing about the sometimes silly and embarrassing parts the queer experience can help bring us together. We never mean offense or harm in anything posted but rather they are satirical takes coming from queer people.

A note about 'Egging': Our community is mostly made up of transfem individuals, and as such most memes posted will be posted with the intention of having a transfem perspective. However, regardless of gender identity, all feminine presenting individuals are welcome here. Whether that means you're NB, GNC, transmasc, or any other identity, you are welcome here. It is not our intention or goal to invalidate these identities. If something makes you uncomfortable, please feel free to report the post and I will address your concerns on an individual level. For more information regarding the problems with 'Egg-culture', please see Here.

Love Y'all and thank you for following this community

I hate nagatoro so much I watched literally one episode then had to stop she's just a standard bully that I dealt with growing up people just think haha she's so cute cause girl she's genuinely awful

[–] MentalEdge@sopuli.xyz 19 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Yes. She starts off genuinely mean spirited.

That is not mutually exclusive with the likable person she turns into over the story.

The story wasn't for you. That's fine.

it's honestly so real for someone to bully their crush bc they aren't mature enough to handle their feelings. Her overcoming that is actually a plus for the sorry

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Its weird. She was one of the "mean girls" at the start, and had no idea who the MC was before that. So she genuinely was kinda just a bully. But she does grow as a character significantly.

Even Yoshi and Gamu chan calm the fuck down once they see Senpai is not a bad guy

there's a lot of good things about her characterization and the story can be really sweet at times...

but god damn is the author creepy as shit! i would be enjoying a really cute scene only to have the male gaze get turned up to 11, reminding me the author has a history in loli hentai. Unlike the nier creator, it feels a lot less harmless when the oc is so clearly an immature kid.

I have similar thoughts on Made in Abyss. Holy fuck is it good horror and a compelling story, but jesus the author is creepy towards little kids. And I've only watched the anime, which is probably very toned down on that front compared to the manga

I think saying "yo this is actually good but the author is a pedo" is basically the same as admiring Mein Kampf while arguing the death of the author is important

Basically what I mean is Made in Abyss IS BAD and I don't like people heaping praise on it. The author is a pedophile. The story, characters, and plenty of scenes in it are softcore (or maybe not even softcore, I haven't read it for obvious reasons) child porn. Sadistic child porn too. I can poke a million holes in Made in Abyss, but what's the point?

Ummm excuse me, but how can I become as articulated as you?

[–] nomugisan@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Are you being sarcastic or genuine?

[–] InternetCitizen2@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Genuine. That paragraph read very well to get your point across.

The best advice I have is to practice writing proper prose in a stream of consciousness style. Try to not edit other than with the delete button on what you just wrote. At least, that's how I got to my kind of eloquence.

You know how people advise you to read you writing aloud to hear how it sounds? Phrasing, readability, etc. I think the skill I have that helps the most is being able to write cogent and speakable language from a stream of consciousness. Try typing exactly how you speak, errors, accents and local expressions all included. It's a skill, yeah. Turning your vocalized speech into internal speech into written language; you get to the point where you can produce written language that sounds like someone speaking naturally.

As for flow and getting a point across? Studying prose helps. Simple things like "shorter sentences make a punchier phrase" or whatever help. Having a written style helps also. I'm not exactly sure if any of this helps, but thank you for complimenting my eloquence. I've never felt particularly eloquent - but I do speak my mind and only my mind. Popular opinion and groupthink are for unoriginal people. Sure, you can hold a popular opinion, but you've also got to have a reason for it that you can express.

Years ago my ex was trying to get me into anime and they decided to show me Made in Abyss and it put me off anime for years

[–] Zorsith@lemmy.blahaj.zone 6 points 1 week ago

Agreed. I very much have no intention of ever reading the manga or supporting anything to do with it for those reasons. The anime i watched sort of out of morbid curiosity.

Oh, interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Yikes, just yikes. That's terrible. Loli is not at all good, and we hate the male gaze.
