What I find so funny about their insistent use of that particular image is that the so-called "tank man" is shown on video literally climbing up onto the tank and having a chat with the PLA soldier inside. If you tried that in any Western country, you'd most definitely get shot, so if nothing else this event speaks to the character of the PLA as a genuine army of and for the people
well yeah, the tank people would be afraid for their lives by the obvious threat so of course they would shoot to kill
