TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name
/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!
Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.
~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.
~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.
~ 3. Use spoiler tags. This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.
~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.
~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.
~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.
~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'
~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.
Fun will now commence.

Dude. Elmo got hard.
(Thank you. I could never get into ds9)
Give it another shot. I hated (hated) hated it in the beginning.
There are character arcs that will confound you, but there’s others that are humanizing and beautiful.
I think, like next gen, if i skip a season i might get into it easier
I'd use a skip guide if you're struggling, season 1 is basically just the opening 2 partner and 'Duet', which came out of nowhere.
But it's so so good when you get into it.
Personally I like season one a lot but I understand this stance. However, you should never sleep on In The Hands of the Prophets. An amazing ep just as good as duet in my book.
As others have said, it starts kinda aimlessly. But it gets really good as it goes. It's my favorite series in the franchise.
Don't feel bad ... I think I tried starting and restarting it about four times over the past ten years ... I only just recently finished watching it about two months ago ... and as others have said, it takes a while to get into it but when you do, you really get into it.
DS9 is the best version of Star Trek
Echoing what EmpathicVagrant said. DS9 takes a bit to get going, and there are a few early episodes which don't hold up, but once you're into late S1, it goes hard and keep going.
I just want to second everything everyone here says ds9 is a great minivan
Everyone needs a good minivan once in a while
