Please refer to Israel as Occupied Palestine, or occupied territories. The IDF is a fascist and ethnonationalist occupying force. Israelis are settlers. We understand however that the imperial narrative (which tries to legitimise Israel) is internalised in the imperial core and slip-ups are naturally expected.
We always take the sides of Palestine and Palestinians and are unapologetic about it. Israel is an occupying power whose "defence force"'s (note the contradiction) sole purpose for existing is to push Palestinians out so they can resettle their rightful land. If you have anything positive to say about Israel we do not care.

Impossible! Why, only three days ago, the lovely Germans over on feddit.org informed me there's no real censorship in Germany and that the only things you can't say are "calls for the deaths of entire population groups!"

They are lying. It sucks here, if you go on any pro-palestinian protest or voice your support for palestine you will certainly be labeled as antisemitic. The german media has created a narrative of "left antisemites" which politician then also adapted. This came after some antisemitic paroles on a demo by a small group of idek what belief of islam shouted them. Now they say all of them are like that. Basically, everyone who is against Israel is also an enemy of the German state in the furthest sense, since the wellbeing of Israel is Germany's "reason of state" (-Scholz).
I mean even the fines are enough to deter most people from doing any action, the strong muslim hate from many parts of the population because of racism and the terror attacks which have been used by rightwingers certainly also fuel the support of Israel because they hate muslims so much they dont care if they are being slaughtered.
The police have even arrested jewish activist against Israel for claims that I dont remember but I think it was something made up.
Calling Gaza a genocide is basically impossible here, and I dont know a single media outlet that has called it a genocide, only ones that defend Israel by saying it isnt one.

Yeah I immediately called them out and cited someone getting arrested and convicted just for saying "from the river to the sea" and they immediately started downplaying it, with shit like, "Well, they could still challenge it in the supreme court" and "Well, the mood was elevated at that time," just absolute bullshit to try to cover their ass after getting caught in a lie. None of them even seem to care if the things they said are true or not, just so long as they can dickride Israel.
Just one conversation with the people in that thread made me incredibly frustrated and made me want to pull my hair out, and since then I've been thinking, "I know there are some Germans who are comrades, but I don't know how they do it." Being surrounded by these sorts of people all the time must be maddening. Granted, there's a lot of brainworms here in the US that are very frustrating to deal with, our political power is non-existent, and I envy German vacation days and stuff, but good lord.
