UK Politics
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.
!ukpolitics@lemm.ee appears to have vanished! We can still see cached content from this link, but goodbye I guess! :'(

If you've not heard of these people, it's likely a cultural difference. They're definitely all well known people. Dua Lipa is one of the most popular pop stars in the UK and USA (and presumably worldwide) , Gary Lineker is a former football player, turned sports commentator, and Benedict Cumberbatch is an A-List actor.
It seems like they have fans here, judging by the downvotes.
Definitely a cultural difference. Dua Lipa sounds alright. A few songs have now been added to the library. Cinema - haven't been in a while and most films I watch are somewhat randomly picked from whichever streaming site I'm on. Cumberbatch doesn't seem to be in the stuff I stumble upon. Football... yeah, can only name Maradona, Bellingham, Ronaldo, and Messi.
I just generally don't pay attention to names.
I'm not a fan of any of them, I just downvoted for your pretentiousness :)
"I don't know who these people are, let me check one out"
Sure, that's it.
