Therefore, we must unswervingly adhere to the basic lines of the Party for the primary stage of socialism for the next 100 years and persist in carrying out reform and innovation to ensure enduring vigor and vitality for socialism with Chinese characteristics.

A century of socialist development seems like a realistic position to me. I really don't think anything even remotely approaching communism is possible while capitalism is the dominant global system. So, a 100 years for the world as a whole to move away from capitalism and towards some form of socialism is a realistic timeline.
