I don't think they care. If Israel and Iran destroy each other mutually, the US still gets partially what they want. So Israel is an expendable proxy for the US.

I don't think so. "Israel" is vital to the US empire's strategic goals in West Asia. Without the neocolony to serve as their proxy and military outpost, their entire regional hegemony collapses.
