There's quite a bit of crossover between "vegan" and "crunchy new age woo woo alt-medicine"
And there's a huge overlap with conservative and antivax, and not much with conservative and vegan.
In any case, them being vegan is not relevant for the anecdotal example.
Up until COVID, anti-vax was a new-age lefty take. You'd usually hear it from the crystal healing types who try to avoid "chemicals". A ton of those folks were also vegan.
You mean raw vegans and fruitarians.
I resemble that remark, and I can assure you that not all ~~superqueer~~ hardcore fruit-munchers are spiritual hippie woo-woo crystal worshippers. Most seem to be opposed to vaccines and to the medical industry in general, though the reasons are diverse. Unfortunately, most of the people I've met who speak against vaccines are not even vegan. And the raw foodists who aren't vegan... 🤮
