Trying to attract researchers and slashing an already slim research budget, all at the same time. That's the Macron way, saying something and doing the exact opposite in the same sentence.

It's not "the Macron way". Other European governments have been doing the same. Hell, Germany killed BioNtec, and the UK killed the department that developed the first Covid vaccine...

Theyโ€™re all worried they have to pay for their own militaries now and moving the budget around to reflect that. Germany doesnโ€™t believe Western Europe is safe from Russia. Not being able to subsidize nearly your entire military because the US has โ€œgot you coveredโ€ is a big budget issue

Nope. Lindner was cutting scientific budgets long before agent orange took power, and so was Wilders. And the EU.

Because they're anti-science right wing bastards (or, in the case of the EU, have way too many right wing bastards in parliament).
