i hate discord as much as the next person but i don't think it's that weird, it is quite nice to have a centralised voice+text zone for your gamer buddies or whatever. my group just got sick of skype getting worse one day and switched. now we await the next alternative because discord has gotten to suck so bad too
One of the FAANG companies is selling all people's info from Discord. Can't recall which. I took it off my phone and only use it on a Windows machine that I use for stupid shit like checking my mostly unused gmail and Discord.
