This happens more on Lemmy than Reddit. Probably because every second post is a news article and seemingly quite a few people just come here to skim the headlines and little much else.

I too have noticed that hardly anyone actually reads these articles, but it's hard for me to talk shit because they're all pay walled anyway

On mobile, I get this as a popup using Vivldi as main browser and Thunder s my Lemmy apk.
