This is totally aww as long as it is from afar. Closer it gets, more it turns to "oh no".

Ah, aren't cheetahs the ultimate sweethearts though? They can even retract their fangs so you don't have to feel threatened! Not many gentle giants among cats, you know

Fangs as in teeth? No cats can do that. If you meant claws, then I think yes cheetahs are the only big cats that can somewhat retract their claws.

Cheetahs are not a big cat and they're non retractable like a dogs (I've been around hundreds) all big cats have retractable claws

[–] stephen01king@piefed.zip 2 points 8 months ago

It's the other way around, they are the only ones who can't retract their claws.

Yes, they like to "chuff" at you to see if they can scare you though.

They're harmless to humans. They're actually very shy. Some wildlife photographers had the opportunity to come close to them and they all say that cheetahs are very gentle. Example: https://dailybbnews.com/heartwarming-cheetah-photographer-encounter/

So no reason for "oh no", you can go full "aww". ;-)

Cool. Time for me to go cheetah shooting (with a camera, obviously).
