Mistral is mainly funded by Nvidia

[–] Eyekaytee@aussie.zone 3 points 6 days ago (2 children)

no it's not lol? why are you just making shit up

https://www.crunchbase.com/funding_round/mistral-ai-series-c--10b2ed47

Its lead by ASML by the looks of it, but a fat chunk of that could be nvidia. We don't know.

[–] Eyekaytee@aussie.zone 0 points 5 days ago (1 children)

how quickly you went from mainly funded by nvidia to we don’t know

[–] greyscale@lemmy.grey.ooo 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

But for all we know, a big fat chunk of it is Nvidia's money. It could be 49% of it for all we know, because I can't find full details of their series C round. On top of that ASML is also profiting from the AI bubble.

They're either funding it (which they are for sure, since it says so) or they're 1 degree of kevin bacon from funding it.

Missing the wood for the trees. Also, I'm not the same person that you replied to.

what are you an ai:

mistral is mainly funded by nvidia

are you sure about that?

you were right to question me, we don’t actually know, insert ramble about nonsense

i don’t know why you willingly joined in on a losing argument

[–] greyscale@lemmy.grey.ooo 1 points 4 days ago

Tell yourself whatever narrative helps you sleep better, buddy.

yes, you’re like they’re being nefarious!! look! they are acquiring the currently most popular and well supported product for llm training!!!

[–] mokey@therock.fraggle-rock.org 1 points 5 days ago (1 children)

"Nefarious"

CEO dude decries American domination, yet is quite eager to deepen the dependency and take the money. That is not only contradictory, but reveals him as yet another grifter. This merits critique.

Now go and learn the meaning of confusion. You seem quite confused to me.

CEO dude decries American domination, yet is quite eager to deepen the dependency

You are STILL confused somehow

America/Nvidia dominates AI, he has NO CHOICE but to use American equipment and says Europe is behind and needs to catch up, there is no contradiction here

Feel free to tell me which European made GPU you plan on getting next which competes with Nvidia or AMD

[–] mokey@therock.fraggle-rock.org 1 points 4 days ago (1 children)

You can 100% compete with non-American brands. When there's a will, there's a way.
