I used the Chinese pronunciation trainer deck from Fluent Forever to improve pronunciation early on. You can buy it, and I would recommend it overall. Helps with tones, retroflex consonants, j/q/x differentiation.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uIe0gpmY-h4 - steal his learning system, very important that you do this if you do nothing else. Also, practice making sentences using his sentence starter and sentence pattern PDFs every day: say it out loud and then ask an LLM ‘[sentence you just said]‘这个句子自然吗? Understand the answer as much as you can to improve the idiomatic quality of your sentences. Practice all of the patterns and find your own patterns from podcasts and the Chinese grammar wiki.

https://ankiweb.net/shared/info/2034321258 - TTS plugin I use now

https://www.pleco.com/ - essential app with a good popup dictionary, dictionary with microtransactions that are worth the price, 100% offline

https://www.chinesetextanalyser.com/ - turn the red words black, helps find text at appropriate levels, very addictive if you're a nerd, one time price

https://mandarincompanion.com/ - graded readers for beginner

https://www.dong-chinese.com/ - can keep track of characters u know and recommend media at the edge of ur understanding, some of the sentence pairs are crap but it's great for learning concrete words especially because of the photo caption quizzes. Steal their list of channels if nothing else, start with Dolores, Mandarin Click, and GoEast, then add Teatime Chinese and Da Peng as you get to intermediate. Not on the list but I also recommend Xiaogua Chinese for beginner.
